In the list of new features I see:
'List sharing now includes category/aisle information synced between all viewers of the list.'

I don't see this happening, maybe I'm not understanding what this means. I am thinking that now when my wife looks on her list it will show the category and aisle that show on my list. Is that what is supposed to happen?

Hi william1949,

To see items in shared lists maintain the same category classification between you and your wife's iPhone you should both be signed in, and have a list shared between your accounts. This list should have an item, ketchup for instance, that you put in the condiments aisle, appear as being in the condiments aisle on your wife's iPhone. This works for both standard aisles that are in Shopper at first download and those custom aisles you might have created to add to Shopper.

I should note, however, that if your wife has the same item categorized in a different aisle than you it will continue to appear in that aisle for her. We found that many people use aisles differently and forcing an item to appear in a certain aisle for the recipient may completely skew how they shop in the store. For this reason, only items that you have in an aisle and your wife has uncategorized, will show up as being in the same aisle you have them in on the shared list she is viewing.

If this is not what you see happen, please help me better understand how you have the list setup/shared. Did you have the list shared using an earlier version of Shopper and upgrade to 7.0? Are you both signed in and your wife accepted the shared list from her iPhone?

Also, I just checked and the ShopperConnect website portal to manage your lists should have no impact on the aisle info being shared.

I will have to wait. My wife just ran off with her phone. We are both using 7.0. But the way I had it set up was that I logged her into my account. So I set up one for her, but she made off with her phone before I got to test things out.

Ok, I'll ask our QA team to be certain but I have a feeling using the same account between your two phones may not work with category sharing on that same list. Shopper is really designed to have each person have their own account and not share accounts between people (Though I fully admit doing the same with my spouse's BlackBerry).

Ok, so after setting my wife up with an account, I found that things did work the way they were supposed to. Unfortunately I find that it all becomes more complicated than it needs to be for me. I have gone back to my original way of doing things (I do all the shopping, she just wants to be able to add things to my list).
