Shopper 3.0 adds the ability to track and manage the stores where you shop. You create stores in Shopper giving them a name and locating them on a map with the assistance of your iPhone or iPod GPS and location features. Shopper can even recognize when you approach one of your stores. Creating multiple stores allows you to have different aisle layouts for each store and to track prices separately for each store.
You manage stores in the Aisles screen. This was called Categories in previous versions of Shopper. The new name reflects Shopper’s expanded abilities to organize itself and your lists based on the layout of multiple stores. If you don’t need to use different stores, then Shopper will continue to operate as before.
Shown below are the Aisle screens when two different stores are selected.

As shown, each store has a different aisle layout. When you switch stores, Shopper also reorganizes your shopping list, as shown here.

Creating Different Aisle Layouts
Initially each store you create will have the same aisle layout. However, when you are in the Aisles screen, you can tap Edit and rearrange the aisles. These changes will be for the current store you have selected as indicated by the name at the top of the screen.

Switching Between Stores
You can switch between stores several ways. In your shopping list, stores are displayed at the top of the list. Tap on a store to switch to it. This will reorganize your list based on that store. It will also display only items available at that store. Tap All Stores to display all your items. Swipe the buttons horizontally to scroll through all your stores.

You can also switch stores in the Aisles screen. Tap the Current Store button to display the Stores screen. Here is the Stores screen with several stores already defined.

The check-marked item is your current store. Initially there will be no stores so you will need to tap the + button to create one.

This screen also lets your create, delete, and edit stores. Use the + button to create a store. Swipe across a store to delete it. Tap the blue detail button to edit an existing store. You can also sort your list by name or distance from you.
You can sort your stores based on name or by distance from you. To take advantage of sorting by distance, you should locate your store on the map in the Store Properties screen (see Creating Stores below).
Per-Store Pricing
Shopper keeps track of prices for each store you define. Whenever you enter a price, it is associated with the current store you have set. Shopper displays the current store in several places to assist you in this manner.

When you change the current store, Shopper displays the prices for that store in your current shopping list. In other words, the prices you see displayed in Shopper are always for the current store. See Assigning a Store to a Shopping List below for a way to permanently assign a store to a shopping list and have Shopper switch to that store whenever you use the list.
Creating Stores
You create new stores by tapping the + button in the Stores screen.

Creating a store is as simple as typing in the store name. You can also let Shopper use your phone’s GPS and location services to map it. Tap the Set Location button to set the store’s location to your current location in the world. Once you do this, Shopper will be able to automatically switch stores for you when it notices that you have come within the vicinity of one of your stores. Tapping the small map expands it to full screen where you can drag the pin to specify the location.
Assigning a Store to a Shopping List
Most people create shopping lists for specific stores. If you follow this model, you should tell Shopper which store belongs to each list. Doing so allows Shopper to automatically switch to the correct store when you open your list. You can assign a store to a list when you create the list or later, by editing the list properties.

When a shopping list has a store assigned to it, is appears in the Lists screen with a shopping cart icon and with the store name displayed.

When Shopper recognizes that you have arrived at one of your stores, is alerts you and gives you the opportunity to switch to the new store.

Store and Aisle Settings
In the Settings screen are several options related to stores and aisles.

Sort by Aisle switches your shopping list organization between aisle order and a plain alphabetized list.
Aisle Names – When Sort by Aisle is on, you can elect to display the aisle names in your shopping list. Displaying the aisle names reduces the number of actual shopping list items you can see at any one time.
Recognize Stores, when on, allows Shopper to automatically detect when you come within the vicinity of one of your stores. When this happens, Shopper will notify you and let you easily switch to that store. For Recognize Store to work, you need to map the store’s location when you created it.
